Homework

POLICY: Homework for fourth graders is assigned each Monday through Thursday, and should take about 30-40 minutes each night to complete. This time spent on Homework does not include the 30 minuets for required reading. Therefore total time spent should be about 1 hour. Students will receive a homework folder and assignments on Monday. Students will take the homework folder home, complete the homework, and get a parent signature on the record sheet. All homework is assigned on Monday and is due on or before Friday. Students may turn in homework as it is completed.
INCENTIVE: Students will receive 5 Mustang Tickets for assignments and signatures turned in on or before Friday. Students who turn in all homework on time for the entire term will become members of the 100% Homework Club and will receive a certificate each term for their work well done. The Mustang Tickets will be used to purchase trips to the Mustang Box.
Reading: Research says that children become better readers by reading at their ability level, so students will also read for a minimum of 30minutes each night. Students have a reading calendar for the month, which they will keep in their homework folder. Print a copy of this month's reading calendar.
