Our school has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. We have counselors available for any student who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss. We encourage you, as parents and guardians, to also feel free to use our resources.
If you would like additional resources or need assistance in supporting your child through this difficult time, please do not hesitate to contact Ashley Weckstein at 580-723-4582 ext. 126 or email ashley.weckstein@frontierok.com.
We are all saddened by the loss to our school community and will make every effort to help you and your child as you need.
Sincerely,

Dental Screenings at Frontier Elementary
Pawnee IHS Dental Clinic will be at Frontier on March 25, 2022 to conduct dental exams and fluoride varnish application for all elementary students in grades PK - 6 with a signed consent form.
This is a free event- there is no charge for the exam or fluoride treatment for any student.
For Native American 5th and 6th grade students –– Pawnee IHS Dental Clinic will return on May 5 & 6 to provide dental sealants that help prevent cavities.
These exams do not replace regular dental checkups, but do provide supplemental screening and care. A notice will be sent home with each student detailing the treatment they received.
Please fill out the consent form that classroom teachers are sending home and return it to school by Thursday, March 24. Call Nurse Whitney with any questions. 580.723.4582.

Remember, school resumes tomorrow! Be sure to get plenty of sleep tonight, and we shall see you in the morning!

Adequate sleep contributes to a student’s overall health and well-being. Students should get the proper amount of sleep at night to help stay focused, improve concentration, and improve academic performance.
Children and adolescents who do not get enough sleep have a higher risk for many health problems, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, poor mental health, and injuries. They are also more likely to have attention and behavior problems, which can contribute to poor academic performance in school.
WHAT CAN PARENTS DO?
Model and encourage habits that help promote good sleep. Setting a regular bedtime and rise time, including on weekends, is recommended for everyone—children, adolescents, and adults alike. Adolescents with parent-set bedtimes usually get more sleep than those whose parents do not set bedtimes.
Dim lighting. Adolescents who are exposed to more light (such as room lighting or from electronics) in the evening are less likely to get enough sleep.
Implement a media curfew. Technology use (computers, video gaming, or mobile phones) may also contribute to late bedtimes. Parents should consider banning technology use after a certain time or removing these technologies from the bedroom.
