The end of September Tootles

Frontier Public Schools had the opportunity to learn about the significance of Orange Shirt Day through a presentation by Melea Hoffman. Orange Shirt Day is a day of remembrance and education that honors the survivors of Indian boarding schools and acknowledges the lasting impact these schools had on Native communities. Following the presentation, each student decorated a handprint, and each class collaborated to create a poster displayed on an orange shirt. We extend our sincere appreciation to Melea Hoffman for taking the time to share the importance of this day with our students.

Spanish Club Movie Night this Friday, October 3rd 6:00 pm in Spanish classroom

We’re looking for parents/guardians of 8th and 9th grade students to join our Family Leadership Academy this fall. It’s kind of like a GEAR UP booster club — you’ll learn more about helping your student with college and career planning, work with other families on a school project, and get paid for your time. There’s one main workshop, a few short online activities, and a co-hosted school family night promoting Oklahoma's Promise in the Spring.
If you are interested in volunteering, please get a hold of Mrs. Golay kathy.golay@frontierok.com or Mrs. Weckstein ashley.weckstein@frontierok.com by October 9th.

On Monday, Otoe-Missouria tribal member Kennetha Greenwood visited our Otoe-Missouria Language Classes to teach students about the history of Indian Dice, a traditional game once played by their ancestors.
Students not only learned about the cultural significance of the game but also had the chance to play against each other and their teachers. It was a meaningful and fun way to connect with tradition while strengthening their understanding of Otoe-Missouria heritage.
